Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac says that reforms will continue in all areas of the defense system. Sutanovac and Acting Serbian Army (VS) Chief-of-General-Staff Miloje Miletic held a reception at the Guard’s Hall in Topcider for Republic Day yesterday evening. Sutanovac: Defense reforms to continue “The year for us was marked by very big security challenges. We can say, regardless of that, that the defense system will continue with reforms, and accelerating those reforms is in the plan in the coming years,” said Sutanovac. “We are convinced that we can fulfill what is drafted in the development plan and that there are still a number of things that we can accomplish through the plan, as we have accomplished certain things so far,” he added. Miletic added that the reforms would create a modern army, prepared to face all challenges. “The Serbian Army has continued to carry out reforms in keeping with the conditions we created. At the same time, accomplishing all the tasks will continue to send the message that we’re prepared to cooperate with all armies in preserving peace and security in the region, and beyond,” he said. The reception was attended by President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, numerous ministers and diplomats, as well as representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
