The U.S. cable network CNN on Wednesday apologized for a "genuine error" in showing an image of Tomislav Nikolic with a caption implying he is Ratko Mladic. "CNN apologizes for this genuine error. The image showing Bosnian Serb war crime fugitive Ratko Mladic surrounded by pre-election posters showing Serb Progressive Party president Tomislav Nikolic in Belgrade, was cropped to show only Nikolic, but a caption referencing the police's ongoing hunt for Mladic misleadingly implied this was him." CNN apologizes for photo mix-up "The photograph was removed as soon as we were made aware of our mistake and we would like to apologies again for this error," the CNN said in a statement, Tanjug reported. On December 5, as police searched Darko Mladic's house in Belgrade CNN illustrated a report on its website with a photograph of Nikolic. The caption under the photograph said it showed Mladic, with an election campaign slogan of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) – an SRS offshoot – visible in the background.
