It's hardly a surprise. CNN and most of the other major media (CBS, papers (the Tribune Group) etc.) have been hemorrhaging money hand have cut their reporters to the bone, and hence any 'expertize' that they claim to have in foreign affairs.

Instead much more news is now farmed out to wire services like Reuters and AP who are hardly much better, relying on sub-editors who often have little knowledge of the region.

Yaroslav thanks for that. I didn't know about all of those mistakes.

Its a sad indictment that CNN is considered such a reputable news source when it makes such pathetic errors.

He should sjue them in 2007 and 2008 I can think of several similar incidences involving Serbia where CNN hjas made gross mistakes:
1. They said Boris Tadic was war criminal Dusan Tadic.
2. They used images of a Romanian church for commercials about Serbian tourism.
3. they put Kazakhstani music into a Serbia commercial.
4. They used images of Bulgarian riots during the Kosovo protest.
5. They used images of Hungarian riots during the Karadzic protests.
6. They used images from the 96/97 protests against Milosevic to refer to the same protests.
7. In #6 they said Slobo was still president.
8. This incident.

Nikolic said it's an honor to be mistaken for Mladic so he has no case, at least in US. If Nikolic thinks it's an honor, according to courts, CNN did him a favor

Mr. Nikolic, Sue them! They'll lose. This isn't the first time they pulled something like this, just as recently as 9 months ago they used images of a Bulgarian riot and tried to pass it off as a Serbian riot! They are without a doubt the most pathetic example of irresponsible special interest media in the world.
