RS President Milorad Dodik met on Thursday in Saint Petersburg with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the International Economic Forum. Dodik - who heads the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina - and Putin discuss the political and economic situation in the Serb Republuc (RS) and Bosnia, said reports. Putin voiced his support for the construction of one leg of the pipeline through the RS, the RS broadcaster RTRS reported. Dodik and Putin also discussed ongoing projects of Russian companies in RS, including investments in the oil industry. The Russian president voiced his full support for the projects realized to date. Dodik told Putin about the hydro-power potential of the RS and they discussed possible investments of Russian state companies in this sector. Putin also noted that Russian bank Sberbanka, which operates in the RS, could offer programs that would boost the local economy. Dodik was one of the guests at a working lunch organized by Putin, alongside Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, and President of Kenya Mwai Kibaki. On the sidelines of the 16th International Economic Forum, Dodik also met with He Guoqiang, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, to discuss the support of Chinese state companies to investments in the RS energy sector.
