The Macedonian interior ministry has filed charges against an OSCE mission diplomat in Skopje who is suspected of having child pornography on his computer. The diplomat is a 38 year-old Norwegian who worked as an advisor in the mission’s embassy and left Macedonia on May 16 stating that he was on vacation, but never returned. OSCE official in Macedonia suspected of child pornography The interior ministry stated that it is working with Interpol to confirm if a chain of people trading child pornography exists in the case. Ministry spokesperson Ivo Kotevski said that the diplomat’s apartment in Skopje was searched and that two computers, two laptops, two hard discs, two iPods and one pocket computer were confiscated, adding that about 150 gigabytes of child pornography photographs and videos were found. One laptop contained 30 gigabytes of child pornography, and all of the material has been given to Interpol. The ministry has not confirmed the identities of the children in the material, adding that the ministry is not yet sure whether they are Macedonian citizens.
