The Canadian government has decided to close its embassy in Sarajevo for economic reasons. The Bosnian Foreign Ministry received official confirmation of the news from the Canadian authorities a few days ago, though Ottawa has sought permission from Sarajevo to open an honorary consulate. Crisis forces Canadian embassy in Bosnia to close From now on, Canada will cover its diplomatic affairs in Bosnia-Hercegovina from Budapest. The Bosnian Presidency has still to consider the Canadian authorities' request.
