A regional conference of interior ministers has started in Brdo pri Kranju in Slovenia. Interior Minister Ivica Dacic is leading the Serbian delegation. Region’s interior ministers meet in Slovenia The 8th regional ministerial conference on illegal migration, organized crime, corruption and terrorism, is an opportunity to exchange good practices in the field of counter-terrorism in the countries of South-East Europe, and to further enhance cooperation between the police forces of those countries. At the same time, another of the conference’s themes will be progress in the project for helping prepare a joint appraisal of the dangers of organized crime in the region. Dacic met with Slovenian Interior Minister Dragutin Mate in Ljubljana last night ahead of the meeting. At a press conference afterwards, they commended the cooperation between the police forces of the two countries. Mate said that cooperation was going well in the field of internal affairs, and that trust existed at an operative level. He repeated that Slovenia strongly supported Serbia’s road towards EU membership. Dacic said that cooperation between Slovenian and Serbian police was good, adding that cooperation should be at a high level between all the countries of the region. He said that the ministers’ role was to handle the political part of the job, voicing his expectation that police chiefs would take care of things at their end too.
