Five people have been injured in armed clashes in the Skoplje suburb of Radusa. Clashes broke out in front of a local restaurant around midnight between two unidentified groups. Albanians clash in Skopje suburb Police spokesman Borce Pesevski said that the injured had been taken to hospital, and that the police were conducting an investigation in the area. He also said that the police did not have any information as to what had sparked the incident, and that the identities of the attackers and the victims were still unknown. According to unofficial information, among the injured was Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) MP Rafis Aliti’s son. The same sources think that it could have been a clash between supporters of the two opposing Albanian parties, the DUI and the Democratic Party of Albanians. Radusa, populated mainly by ethnic Albanians, was the scene of armed clashes between Macedonian police and the so-called People’s Liberation Army (ONA) in 2001. At the time, Aliti was an ONA commander for that area.
