Slovenia submits protest to Zagreb

Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa has protested to Zagreb over Croatian acts relating to the disputed border area. At a press conference today, Jansa said he had phoned Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader to protest over the fact that Croatia had usurped the property rights to three lots in the disputed border area. Slovenia submits protest to Zagreb According to the Slovenian prime minister, Sanader said that it was not Croatia but the Croatian community of Buje that had sold the three disputed lots. Jansa replied that, should such unilateral moves continue, Slovenia would freeze the agreement reached by both prime ministers, and that a third side, a mixed commission, would arbitrate over the matter. Jansa added that the situation was very serious and that Croatia was not aware of the historical moment that it found itself in, when negotiations with the EU needed to be concluded.
