Three police officers were injured during today's riots in Banja Luka, RS, hospital officials said. Local Serb high school students today organized a protest over Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence that turned into rioting. Protesters, policemen injured in RS Three Republic of Srpska (RS) MUP officers were injured, as well as several protesters. A number of demonstrators were also taken into custody, reports said. The students threw stones at the U.S. consulate building in the Bosnian Serb entity's largest town, also vandalizing several shops. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
