Democrats accuse authorities of "intent to steal elections"

DS Vice President Gordana Comic told a news conference on Wednesday that the Interior Ministry (MUP) was behind this and announced that party leader Bojan Pajtic would file criminal complaints for "intent to steal elections."

Comic showed voter invitations, saying that "only someone in the MUP, that is, only the authorities, can do something like this, as the authorities had been the only ones capable of stealing the 1996 elections."

Comic said the DS had its sources who told them that "the MUP will say this was a computer error," but added there was "no computer that can register a place of residence instead of citizens personally, as procedure envisages."

She noted the DS and the SPO in 1996 "discovered election theft," and said the party would monitor all cases of attempted electoral theft. The DS launched an email address - zapravedneizbore@ds.org.rs - and invited citizens to point out to such cases.
