An agreement has been reached between parties to form a new majority in the Novi Sad city assembly, the Socialists (SPS) have announced.

NOVI SAD An agreement has been reached between parties to form a new majority in the Novi Sad city assembly, the Socialists (SPS) have announced. That majority is now comprised of 42 councilors, including those of the SNS, the SPS, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), and two more groups that include the Serb Renewal Movement (SPO) and the Dveri Movement. New majority formed in Novi Sad city assembly The local SPS branch announced that after the city assembly session was not held on Wednesday as planned - "it was clear that there was a new majority", and that within it, "a firm agreement has been reached on the ways to finance the town, the political platform, the vision of development and the principles on which Novi Sad will function in the next four years." The town's new mayor will come from the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) - Milos Vucevic will thus replace Igor Pavlicic of the Democratic Party (DS). The Socialists also said that hi deputy will be DSS official Borko Ilic, while Sinisa Sevic of the SPS will be elected as new assembly president. His deputy will be Dveri Movement representative Miroslav Ilic. "We are convinced that people who will lead Novi Sad in the coming period will once again make it a leader among Serbia's cities, a place good for investments and safe and decent for all our fellow citizens," said the SPS statement.
