The electoral assembly for the election of the Macedonian National Council will be held today in Pancevo. The Macedonian electoral assembly session, which was scheduled for June 6, was not held because a quorum could not be reached. Elections were held around the country for the 18 other national minorities on that day as well. Macedonian minority council to be elected There are 52 candidates for the national council, and every one had to submit 100 signatures from members of their national minority community. In order for a list to be confirmed for the council, one-fourth of the electoral assembly must give its support. On June 6, 16 national councils were selected in direct elections while Croatian and Slovenian representatives were chosen in the same way that the Macedonian officials would be elected, by way of an electoral assembly.
