Serbia wants Hague to finish Seselj case quickly

“We have called for the soonest possible completion of the proceeding against Vojislav Seselj and pointed to its duration and the developments in this case,” Obradovic told Tanjug after a session of the UNSC tabling the ICTY operation on Wednesday evening.

It was underlined at the session that the length of the proceedings in the case against Seselj (11 years) has constituted a violation of his human rights.

Obradovic also presented the results achieved in processing war crimes in Serbia and pointed to the moves that Croatia's MEPs are making to abolish or limit the jurisdiction of Serbian courts.

The UNSC meeting highlighted the concern about prolongation of court proceedings, primarily because of the indictees' health, while Serbia's cooperation with the ICTY was qualified ass satisfactory.
