According to court sources, Miladin Kovacevic has struck a deal with the prosecution and accepted a prison sentenced of two years and three months. Prosecution spokesperson Tomo Zoric confirmed for B92 that a deal has been made, but it needs to be confirmed by the Belgrade court as well. Kovacevic, who was playing basketball at the time for Binghamton University, assaulted student Bryan Steinhauer in front of a club in New York in May 2008, almost killing him and putting him in a coma for several weeks. Along with the brutal attack on Steinhauer, Kovacevic is also accused of forging documents that he used to get through passport control at the Nikola Tesla airport in 2008.
