Serbian currency in week of recovery

The Serbian dinar (RSD) will continue to rise against euro on Friday for the seventh day in a row.

The Serbian dinar (RSD) will continue to rise against euro on Friday for the seventh day in a row. The home currency will strengthen by 0.48 percent, thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 104.3355, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) stated in a release. Serbian currency in week of recovery On three occasions during the week, the NBS purchased foreign currency on the inter-bank foreign exchange market, at the total value of EUR 50mn. Before this week, the last time the NBS bought foreign currency was in August, when it purchased EUR 10mn. The NBS has sold EUR 2.439bn since the beginning of the year so as to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate. Dinar reached its highest this year on January 4, with the official middle exchange rate at RSD 95.9679, while it hit its lowest on November 4, with the middle exchange rate at RSD 107.5216.

Before this week, the last time the NBS bought foreign currency was in August, when it purchased EUR 10mn.
