Serbia will have priority using natural gas from the Banatski Dvor underground storage, which is now majority owned by Russia's Gazprom. This is according to Energy Minister Petar Skundric, who explained that the move will protect the country in case of future gas crises. Skundric told a session of the ruling SPS energy and mining board that preparations are under way to put together a legal framework and consider realistic possibilities to realize the Smederevo refinery project. This would be in line with Serbia's strategy and an inter-state agreement the country has with the Russian Federation, he explained.
