Deputy PM Mladjan Dinkic said on Thursday that representatives of General Electric will arrive here in mid-October. According to Dinkic, the U.S. company is interested in the construction of a locomotive factory in Serbia and participation in the modernization of the Serbian Railways. Dinkic says General Electric reps to visit He confirmed that initial contacts had already been established with the General Electric management in New York and that its representatives said they would visit Serbia next month. According to the minister, the company has the intention of finding partners in the Serbian market which would supply it with the parts. Dinkic assessed that at the Global Investment Symposium, "Serbia had been presented as the most attractive country for the production of goods designed for export". “Serbia is highly interested in encouraging major U.S. companies such as IBM, Intel and Dell, all from the computer industry and IT sector, to come to Serbia, and the goal of our government is to liven up not only the country's car industry, but its IT industry of informatics as well," he was quoted as saying.
