Marko Đurić has said that early elections for the assembly of Kosovo would not slow down the making of the statute of a future community of Serb municipalities.

"Efforts to form community won't slow down"

Đurić told the Beta news agency that according to the Brussels agreement, the first draft of the statute should be proposed by the managing team of the community, and added that after the mayoral election in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, conditions to do that had been met.

The managing team of the ZSO is named by representatives of the four majority-Serb municipalities in northern Kosovo.

The SZO is meant to connect municipalities with Serb majority population, and municipal assemblies elected in the local elections in Kosovo will decide on whether to join the community.
