BELGRADE Former President Boris Tadic has rejected as "absolutely untrue" accusations of experting political pressure made by the Nibens Grupa (Group) owner. "The allegations of Mr. (Milo) Djuraskovic that I exerted political pressure on anyone are absolutely untrue. I never influenced the decision on who would carry out the project for Corridor 10, nor have I dealt with that,'' Tadic said in a statement to the media. Ex-president rejects accusations made by businessman He added that "this case confirms that the judicial process is used for, by placing falsehoods, attack labels via the media through placement of falsehoods''. Djuraskovic made his statement about the pressure he allegedly faced from the Democratic Party (DS) during his trial. Another former senior party official, Dusan Petrovic, also dismissed this as "false and completely meaningless." According to Tadic, "it is obvious" that those who were accused while he was president are now "using judicial processes to present legal and political accusations against him." ''We had a chance to see this in the case of the defense of Stanko Subotic, and in many other processes, so it does not surprise me that Mr. Djuraskovic continues that practice'', said Tadic, who is now honorary president of the opposition Democratic Party. He also stated that it was "not only a problem of our media and political culture, but also of the functioning of the judicial system and state institutions." Milo Djuraskovic was attending his trial before the Special Court on Thursday when he accused leaders of the Democratic Party for the failure of road construction companies, claiming that he was blackmailed, pressured and finally arrested. According to him, "it all started in 2010" when he created a consortium to build the northern branch of Corridor 10, "when the political pressure started." Djuraskovic is on trial on suspicion that he, along with Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic, his son Marko Miskovic, and eight other defendants, incurred financial damage to road construction companies.
