RS president urges Serbs to vote in Srebrenica

Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik has called on Serbs to register to vote in Srebrenica and prevent a Bosniak from being the next town mayor.

Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik has called on Serbs to register to vote in Srebrenica and prevent a Bosniak from being the next town mayor. He told RTRS that this could happen bearing in mind “the election engineering and the campaign led by Bosniaks”. RS president urges Serbs to vote in Srebrenica “This means that Serbs have to go to the polls and that those who have the right to register should go and register there. I call on them to do so,” Dodik stressed. The local elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina are scheduled for October 7 and the Bosniaks have requested from the international institutions and the Bosnian authorities that Srebrenica be exempted from the country’s election laws. They requested that the electoral roll based on the 1991 census be used in the election in Srebrenica but their request was denied.
