“Preparations for elections in Kosovo underway”
Preparations are under way in Kosovo for the parliamentary and presidential elections, Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) Secretary Veljko Odalović says.

Preparations are under way in Kosovo for the parliamentary and presidential elections, Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) Secretary Veljko Odalovic says. “Polling stations will open everywhere in the province where the safety of voters, the station and electoral material is guaranteed,” Odalovic said at a meeting with a pre-election monitoring mission of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) on Thursday. “Preparations for elections in Kosovo underway” He said certain difficulties had arisen in connection with the holding of elections in Kosovo but that, following technical talks, it was expected these would be resolved. The secretary informed the mission, headed by Jean-Charles Gardetto, that 13 parliamentary lists had been announced so far, including two national minority lists. “The commission has approved 11 candidates for president and voting will take place at 8,585 polling stations,” noted Odalovic. Gardetto explained the purpose of the visit to Belgrade is to prepare for the election monitoring mission and get acquainted with the electoral commission's activities prior to the election.
