MPs adopt laws on party financing and excises

The Serbian parliament on Tuesday voted to adopt a bill designed to regulate funding of political activities, and another amending the Law on Excise Duties. 133 members of parliament from the ruling coalition, and the Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP), voted in favor. According to the Serbian government, which had proposed it, the bill on the funding of political parties should enable a more transparent financing and work of political parties. Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties envisaged that a unique excise duty of RSD 49.5 should be applied to all types of motor fuels, and another one of RSD 37 to diesel fuels.
