FM Vuk Jeremic has said it would be "a big mistake" to further condition Serbia's steps toward the EU with pressure regarding the dialogue with Pristina. "Serbia cares very much about achieving her future in the EU, but we cannot agree to concessions that would violate the constitutional position of our country," Jeremic stated after a meeting with his Slovak counterpart Mikolas Dzurinda. FM warns new pressure would be "big mistake" The dialogue in question refers to a series of meeting in Brussels between representatives of the Serbian government and the Kosovo Albanian authorities. "It would be a big mistake to burden the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue with extreme issues, or to speed it up artificially", said the Serbian minister. Jeremic also noted that Serbia will be ready in the future to make rational and just compromises, as was the case in the past. "One of the key processes for peace and stability in the region is the process of direct Belgrade-Pristina talks. I think it would be exceptionally important for it to continue in a stable manner, without disturbances," said he. The dialogue, the minister continued, is the best way to find solutions to all open issues that exist between Serbia and the authorities in Pristina, while Belgrade believes that a compromise solution is possible to all open questions. Dzurunda welcomed the start of the dialogue and stressed that Serbia had his country's full support over Kosovo.
