"Integration of north requires patience"

International Civilian Office (ICO) chief Pieter Feith says the implementation of the "strategy for the integration northern Kosovo" requires time and patience. Feith, who also holds the office of EU's special representative in Pristina, also said that the plan, drafted by the Kosovo Albanian government and ICO, and its implementation, depends on the approach of the local communities. "Integration of north requires patience" "We have been saying all the time that this is a long-term effort and that it depends on its adoption at the local level," Feith said in an interview with the BBC in Albanian. He underscored that the Kosovo government is already taking steps towards the strategy implementation. "We wish to provide better services to the population in the north and I hope that the people would appreciate it to have better contacts and a better access to the European Union and the international community," said Feith.
