Rasim Ljajic has told daily Vecernje Novosti that the reward of EUR 1mn for any information leading to the arrest of Ratko Mladic still stands. “That reward is still valid. Whoever gives us accurate information leading to the arrest of Mladic will receive EUR 1mn,” the president of the National Council for Hague Cooperation said. Ljajic: Mladic reward still stands The reward was first announced in October 2007 by the National Security Council, headed by President Boris Tadic. Information on Mladic’s whereabouts can be given to the Interior Ministry, with the reward being paid from the state budget. “The reward also demonstrates Belgrade’s determination to complete all of its remaining obligations to the Tribunal as soon as possible. This reward shows that the political will for extraditing Mladic exists,” Ljajic said. “The National Security Council announced a reward for the other Hague fugitive, Goran Hadzic, as well. That reward is four times smaller and is worth EUR 250,000,” Ljajic said. An identical award was offered for information on Stojan Zupljanin, who has been arrested and extradited in the meantime. “No one got that reward, because Zupljanin was located and arrested by the security services,” Ljajic explained. There was no reward for information on Radovan Karadzic, because, according to Ljajic, he was not a Serbian citizen and there was no information indicating that he was hiding in Serbia. Ljajić: Mladić reward still stands
