The Serbian ambassador to the Council of Europe said that the CoE Monitoring Committee would visit Serbia in November. “Topics will include the situation of minorities, the media, and the presence and increase of unacceptable tendencies, such as neo-Nazi groups and organized rallies by such groups,” Sladjana Prica told today’s edition of Novi Sad daily Dnevnik. She added that the monitoring committee delegation’s report would include a proposal for solutions and recommendations for further steps to be taken, and would eventually be submitted to the CoE Assembly at a meeting. Prica said that the fact that Serbia’s failure to complete cooperation with the Hague Tribunal was the main reason why it was not yet possible to bring an end to such internal monitoring activities.
