The EU must solve the problem of the migrant crisis on its own borders - in Bulgaria and Greece - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic said in Paris on Thursday.

"Even though we will accept our share of responsibility and continue to show solidarity, we will have to make a decision at some point," he said, according to Tanjug.

"Walls and barriers are not necessary and that would not be a good solution for anyone, but there should never be a situation where Serbia says that no more migrants can enter its territory," Vucic, who is on an official visit to France, told reporters.

"The EU must solve that on its borders. Serbia cannot be Europe's first and last defense. Someone has to solve that on the borders of Greece and Bulgaria, they are EU's countries," Vucic said.

Vucic said that the migrant crisis and the stabilization of the region are the problems Serbia faces today - as the county currently has "almost 7,000 people who have nowhere to go, while there are as many in Bulgaria."

Serbia is "against raising walls and fences - but the EU must solve the migrant crisis within its own borders," Beta agency reported Vucic as saying.

"It seems I am the last man in Europe who stands against walls and borders. Walls are not necessary and they are not a good solution for anyone - but don't make us have to say that no (migrant) can enter Serbia's territory, any longer," Vucic told reporters in Paris.
