According to him, the question is why "nobody is reacting to all that is happening in Croatia," adding that the policy of the West and the EU at this moment is that of "not believing their own eyes."

"My desire is not to destabilize our relations, (but) this is our obligation, to defend the country, the nation, and our interests. Imagine some other country starting to rehabilitate war criminals," sadi Dacic.

The minister in Serbia's caretaker government also noted that Croatia has not provided a concrete answer to any of the questions relating to historical revisionism and the rehabilitation of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) - a Second World War-era Nazi-allied entity.

"That state was a Nazi creation that committed huge crimes, above all against the Serbs. And Croatia (previously) saved its soul by entering the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians. To each concrete query - why they rehabilitated Stepinac, about Glavas, the monument to Baresic, the incidents in Srb - there has either been no answer, or the answer has been that it's greater-Serbia aggression. That's what they always say, when they have nothing to reply," said Dacic.

As for the Croatian foreign minister urging Serbia to "turn toward the future," Dacic said it was "tragicomic," and noted that the name "Ante" was an increasingly popular baby name in Croatia.

"Kovac's statement is a treatise in obvious hatred toward Serbia, Serbs, and PM Vucic," said Dacic.
