The opposition Serb Progressives (SNS) say that Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas had resorted to rhetoric that "sounds like it's coming from the Radicals (SRS)". The Progressives reacted on Friday after Djilas, a high ranking ruling DS official, criticized them for inviting former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuiliani to visit Serbia and the party. SNS responds to Democrats' Giuliani remark Djilas, who will face Aleksandar Vucic of the SNS in the May 6 election that will determine the next Belgrade mayor, said Giuliani had voiced support for NATO's 1999 war against Serbia. "Giuliani came to Belgrade to share his experience and great ideas which he had for his city and which he realized through commitment, hard work and reduction of bureaucracy and corruption, and it is our pleasure that we were his host," the SNS stated in a release. The statement added that "when Vucic is elected Belgrade mayor, he will continue consulting competent leaders such as Giuliani". The party also said that they would welcome investors from the U.S., EU and east and west - unlike Djilas and the Democratic Party who are forcing them out of Belgrade.
