Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said that Serbia will do everything in its power to become a full-fledged EU member-state as soon as possible. He added that he should not be expected to give a date, saying that several weeks ago, the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall was marked, but that "it can also be said that another wall fell with the liberalization of visas for Serbia". "Serbia must enter EU as soon as possible" “It was a wall of visas for our citizens and citizens of Macedonia and Montenegro and we hope that it will be a reality for citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania as well next year,” Djelic said. Speaking in Belgrade today, the minister stated that he wished for "all the walls to fall one after another until all the countries of the Western Balkans are EU member-states". The conference he addressed was dedicated to the region's integration into the EU, and themed, "Beyond the wall". Djelic said that he hoped that Croatia would soon finish its negotiations with the EU. If Croatia becomes the 29th EU member-state, Serbia wants to be the 30th, "either alone or with others", Djelic was quoted as saying. He also added that he hoped that an agreement between the three constitutive peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina would be reached. “Serbia will support any agreement reached,” Djelic said. The minister also stated that EU’s support has increased Serbia’s desire to complete its obligations to the Hague Tribunal, adding that Serbia is doing everything it can to locate and arrest the two remaining fugitives. “This is necessary for those that were victims of crimes, and for the blame to be individualized, not collective,” Djelic said.
