DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica says it is of state and national interest for the white Schengen to apply to all Serbian citizens, particularly the Kosovo Serbs. “The government has a constitutional, political and moral duty to present arguments in the open talks with Brussels, and ensure equal treatment of all Serbian citizens, especially the Serbs in Kosovo, who are the most discriminated-against and marginalized people in Europe today,” Kostunica told Tanjug. "White Schengen must apply to all or none" “The Serbian authorities are fully obliged to ensure that the white Schengen applies to all our citizens. Otherwise, if the government takes part in the discrimination of its citizens in Kosovo, that will be the most drastic step it has taken in the surreptitious recognition of and direct complicity in the creation of the phony state of Kosovo,” the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader stated. He said that “if the current powers-that-be have failed to ensure the white Schengen for all Serbian citizens, and have made a partition of the country in such as a way as to demean the Serbs in Kosovo and ghettoize them like second-class citizens, then that’s further proof that the government is not safeguarding the interests of the citizens and the state.“ “In the coming days, we’ll be hearing again how the government falsely pledges not to recognize Kosovo, when, in real life, it is doing the exact opposite,“ said Kostunica.
