BELGRADE This is not just a change of government as far as staff is concerned, it is also a change of concept, PM-Designate Ivica Dacic has said. He stressed that the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) had in the coalition agreement with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and United Regions of Serbia (URS) defined that the government would “radically cut down the expenses of the state”. Dacic added that aside from the financial discipline, a priority was a more just division of social wealth. “Europe has been saved not by neoliberal measures but by state interventions,” he explained. The SPS leader said that the financial capital’s interest was only profit but that the problem was whether the profit was invested “in the social development or in something else”. He also wondered where the wealthy people in Serbia kept their money and added that if “it was (Slobodan) Milosevic’s money, I will certainly return it if I find it even though it was 12 years ago”. When asked to comment on the fact that the URS and SNS had a different concept of the economy and state finances, Dacic said that Germany and France had two different concepts when it came to the solution for the crisis but that they had managed to reach an agreement.
