EU's Robert Cooper will likely visit Belgrade on Monday "to help ease the tension in Kosovo and get Belgrade and Pristina to return to the negotiating table". This is according to an EU source quoted by Tanjug. EU official "could visit Belgrade on Monday" Cooper acts as the mediator in the Brussels rounds of talks between Belgrade and Pristina. The news agency's source who wished to remain anonymous could not provide any other details about Cooper's visit since they have not been agreed yet. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton announced the visit earlier. European Commission spokesperson Karolina Kottova also did not give any further details about Cooper's visit when she addressed a news conference on Friday. She stated that the EU was "in contact with both sides" and that the goal was to "get them to sit down and talk, since that was the only way to move forward".
