Socialist Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS) leader Rasim Ljajic says it is important for parties in the current government "to be partners, not competitors". This, the labor minister in the Cvetkovic cabinet said, should come in order to bring misunderstandings within the coalition to a minimum. When asked who his party would group with, Ljajic responded it was too early to decide and that he had stated more than once he would first talk to DS and then URS and SPS. "It would be best if SDPS were to run in the election on its own, but considering its youth, there is little chance of that, since it would likely fail to get the required minimum of votes to win a parliament seat," Ljajic added. "Therefore, SDPS is thinking about a pre-election coalition, and it is morally obligated to talk to Democrats first, since it has been in a coalition with that party the longest," he explained.
