Serbian President Boris Tadic met in Surt with Libyan leader Muammar Gadaffi at his summer home. This is the second time in the last year that Tadic has visited Gadaffi in Libya. Tadic meets with Gadaffi Tadic was in Tripoli last September attending the celebration of the 40-year anniversary of the Libyan revolution. Gadaffi met Tadic in front of his summer residence in Sirt, while the Serbian president was greeted at the airport by Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmudi, Foreign Minister Musa Kusa and other senior officials. Tadic’s delegation for the visit also includes Trade and Services Minister Slobodan Milosavljevic and Foreign Ministry advisor for bilateral relations Zdravko Ponos. Libya is one of the key allies of Serbia in the Arab League through which Serbia communicates with the rest of the Arab and non-aligned countries. Libya also strongly supports Serbia’s Kosovo stance. Gadaffi has stated on several occasions that Libya will not recognize Kosovo, which he reiterated to Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic during a meeting between the two held last year.
