Serbia's national tennis squad has beaten the United States in the World Group Davis Cup tie in Belgrade. Serbia will for the first time play in the competition's quarterfinals, with Novak Djokovic's 3-2 victory over John Isner at the Belgrade Arena venue this Sunday securing the historic success. America's only win in the tie thus far came with the triumph of Bob Bryan and John Isner over Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic and Nenad Zimonjic in the doubles. The remaining match between Viktor Troicki and Sam Quarry will be played this afternoon. Serbia will next face Croatia as the team battles for a spot in the Davis Cup semifinals.
