Commander of Allied Joint Force in Naples Admiral Mark Fitzgerald met on Wednesday with Serbian Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac. The MoD said in a statement that Fitzgerald "assured that KFOR troops, regardless of their numbers, will guard the safety of non-Albanians and Serb cultural and historic sites in Kosovo and Metohija". Sutanovac, Fitzgerald on security in Kosovo Sutanovac and Fitzgerald conferred in Belgrade today on the current security situation, on the reduction of KFOR troops and on cooperation between the Serbian Army and KFOR, the statement said. The reason for Fitzgerald's visit was the handing over of duties between the head of NATO office Brig.-Gen. Miroslav Balint and Brig.-Gen. Kase Jana of the Czech Republic. The ceremony was attended by Serbian Army CoGS Lt.-Gen. Miloje Miletic, Czech Ambassador to Serbia Hana Hubackova, and high VS and NATO command in Naples officers. Fitzgerald met after the ceremony with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the statement concluded.
