Stressing that there were differences on the Kosovo issue between Russia and some EU countries, the Russian diplomat said that Moscow realized that the European Union was prepared to take additional responsibility in the region. "We do not oppose this, but any moves aimed at changing the format of international presence or introducing the EU influence through other mechanisms would have to be coordinated with Belgrade and approved by the UN Security Council," Grushko said. He announced that one of the topics at the regular semi-annual Russian-EU summit in Khanty-Masiysk on June 26-27 would be frozen conflicts such as Pridnyestrovye, Kosovo and Cyprus.
