The mandates of all 250 MPs elected at the May 11 elections have been verified at today's constitutive session of parliament. New parliament holds first session The session closed following verification of mandates, with Acting Speaker Jovan Krkobabic informing MPs that they would be informed as to when the session would resume. A three-member verification committee was elected at the beginning of proceedings that spent an hour verifying MPs' personal details and submitted a report to parliament. The commission comprised Bosko Ristic, DS, ("For a European Serbia"), Vjerica Radeta (Serb Radical Party) and Branislav Nedimovic (Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia). The constitutive session was chaired by Associated Pensioners Party leader Jovan Krkobabic, as the parliament's oldest member. Former Speaker Oliver Dulic announced earlier that he was almost certain that a that a parliamentary majority would be formed by the coalition gathered around the Democrat Party (DS), the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and the minority parties, with the new speaker coming from ranks of those parties. He said that at Monday’s consultations with party representatives, the seating positions in parliament had been determined, but that this did not have anything to do with the formation of a majority.
