The excavator that helped protesters bring down the Milosevic regime on October 5, 2000 is now on sale. Ljubisav Djokic, a.k.a., Joe Bagerista and his famed yellow excavator were at the forefront of the October 5 riots in Belgrade that led to Slobodan Milosevic’s ouster. "Excavator that downed Milosevic" goes under hammer Djokic told B92 that his difficult financial situation prompted him to sell the vehicle which is up for action at limundo.com for a starting price of USD 128,000. The excavator is not in a working condition. The lot has been advertised as "the historical excavator that collapsed communism in Serbia." “This is the excavator that helped revolutionaries conquer the state television, the last bastion of Milosevic’s regime, and the parliament of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,” the website says. It is said that Djokic, seen as “a hero of this historical event” survived the attacks of "Milosevic’s police" with the help of God.
