CAIRO Two people were killed and 84 wounded in the clashes between Muslims and Copt Christians in Cairo, after the funeral of four Egyptian Christians. The four were themselves killed in religious violence that took place earlier. Christian cathedral attacked in Cairo The clashes lasted for several hours on Sunday, during which rocks and firebombs were thrown at St. Mark's Cathedral, while small caliber bullets were also fired at the Christian holy place. The violence broke out after the funeral was attended by hundreds of angry Copts who shouted: "We will with our soul and blood sacrifice for the cross." Some of them chanted slogans demanding the departure of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood. One of the victims of yesterday's clashes has been identified as 30-year-old Mahrous Hana Tadros, which is a Christian name. Among the wounded are 11police officers. Police fired tear gas to try to disperse the crowd, but the clashes lasted late into the night, Reuters reports.
