The 82nd anniversary of the death of Swiss professor and forensic scientist Archibald Reiss was marked with ceremonies at his grave and monument in Belgrade. The memorial ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Ministry of the Interior and the Police Academy. Archibald Reiss remembered in Belgrade The ceremony, held at the scientist's grave in the Topcider neighborhood of Belgrade and at the monument in Topcider Park, was organized by the Belgrade-based Association for Preserving The Tradition Of Serbian Liberation Wars Until 1918 and the subsidiary of the association from Macvanski Prnjavor in western Serbia. Archibald Rudolph Reiss was a professor at the University of Lausanne, who distinguished himself as a forensic scientist and publicist. Reiss accompanied the Serbian army in the battlefield as a doctor during the First World War, and investigated atrocities perpetrated against the Serb population by the occupying Austrian, German and Bulgarian forces. A friend of Serbia, he continued to live in the country after the war and died in Belgrade in 1929. (Tanjug)
