Human error caused factory explosion The fire then spread to other projectiles in the vicinity. "We arrived at this conclusion after a static and dynamic inspection, an analysis of the events and verified it experimentally," said Djordjevic. On the fourth day following the accident, Defense Ministry and army teams are still working to clear the area, but production has already safely resumed at other parts of the factory. Tests have shown there is no elevated concentration of harmful substances at the blast Director of the Sloboda factory Zoran Stefanovic, says all security procedures prescribed by law were respected at the factory. He told Radio Television of Serbia that human error had been pinpointed as the cause of the fire which led to a string of explosions and destroyed the entire pyrotechnics production line. “Human error is responsible for 99 percent of such cases,” he explained. Stefanovic claims that the damage could have been less severe if the firefighters had been able to put out the blaze. "It is important to minimize the damage, which we were able to do in this case, as no one was injured and no other facilities were damaged," he noted. The factory director said that on the day of the fire, he went through the whole factory and asked the workers, who had been working overtime, if anyone was unable to continue. “No one came forward,” he said.
