Several hundred Serbs in Gracanica, accompanied by KFOR, gathered Sunday to cut badnjak near a local lake. Badnjak, an oak log or branch used in Serb Orthodox rituals, is traditionally cut on the morning of the Christmas Eve, to be burned the same night. The custom is sometimes associated with originally northern European burning of the yule log.
