Belgrade's Special War Crimes Court today released from custody 6 out of 12 suspects charged with 1991 war crimes in Croatia. The court spokeswoman Ivana Ramic said that the decision to cancel detention of the six suspects was made after all witnesses residing in the Serbian territory had given testimonies. Six war crimes suspects released On May 30, the War Crimes Prosecution named 12 persons suspected of committing attrocities in the Croatian village of Lovas, in October and November 1991, when 70 Croat civilians were abused and later executed. The War Crimes Court then opened an investigation into their involvement in the crime. Ljuban Devetak, Milan Devicic, Milan Radojicic and Zeljko Krnjajic, leaders of the local territorial army in Lovas at the time the crime took place, are among the suspects.
