Bosnia may demand Jurišić’s extradition

He is suspected of having participated in war crimes committed against Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) soldiers in Tuzla in 1992, in a case known as the Tuzla Column.

Serbian War Crimes Prosecution is currently investigating the case, which involves two simultaneous events, an ambush attack on JNA troops on May 15, 1992, and the attack on the nearby village of Banovići.

The troops were withdrawing from Tuzla under an agreement, when they came under attack.

Speaking about Jurišić, Komšić said that “Bosnian citizens should not feel like stalked pray that anyone could capture at any time.”

“That is why I will dispatch an official request to Bosnian Prosecution, urging them to demand Jurišić’s extradition from Serbia. I will do that first thing Monday morning, regardless of whether other two members of the presidency would back my initiative,” he said.
