Incidents occurred on Saturday in Zagreb during the Pride Parade, with participators being attacked on two separate occasions. According to the parade’s organizers, about a dozen young men attacked and injured three participators, two of which were Danish citizens and one a Bosnian citizen. One incident occurred during the parade, when it passed near the location where an ultra right-wing rally against the parade was being held. Police were able to stop the incident from escalating, and separated the attackers and the participators in time. Three attackers were arrested, one of which tried to throw an ashtray at a police officer. About 200 to 300 police officers secured the parade. Organizers were not happy with the fact that the rally against the parade was not stopped, since it endorsed hate and insulted the participators of the Pride Parade. The Pride Parade was endorsed by President Ivo Josipovic, Deputy Prime Minister Slobodan Uzelac, Ombudsman for Gender Equality Gordana Lukac Koritnik, Ombudsman Jurica Malcic, several opposition parties and officials from the Croatian assembly, and Hollywood actor Rade Serbedzija.
