U.S. supports Montenegro’s NATO membership

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has expressed America’s support to Montenegro’s accession to the “Euro-Atlantic community”. After a meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic in Washington on Wednesday, the U.S. secretary of state said that she congratulated Montenegro on achieving NATO’s Membership Action Plan (MAP) status and guaranteed the U.S. support in making Montenegro an integral part of the Euro-Atlantic institutions. U.S. supports Montenegro’s NATO membership Montenegro was accepted into MAP in December, which is a preparation for the admission to NATO. The Montenegrin PM thanked the U.S. for the help regarding his country’s Euro-Atlantic integrations. He expressed his belief that Montenegro would become the next new member of NATO. Clinton stated that she had received Djukanovic’s invitation to visit Montenegro and that she hoped she would be able to do so.
