Dodik: RS to sue Dutch government, UN

The Republic of Srpska (RS) PM Milorad Dodik said a lawsuit would be filed against the United Nations and the Dutch government. This, Dodik said, would come because the Dutch battalion stationed in Srebrenica "had done nothing during the war so as to protect the surrounding Serb villages from the slaughter of the Muslim forces under Naser Oric's command". Dodik: RS to sue Dutch government, UN Commenting on "the scandalous ruling by the Hague Tribunal which had acquitted Oric of all crimes", Dodik said that various Bosniak associations had sued the Dutch government because its troops had not protected the people of Srebrenica in 1995, and that the Tribunal had proclaimed itself with authority in such cases. “The RS will use the same yardstick and in the next few weeks it will file a lawsuit against the Dutch government,” Dodik said. He noted that the RS would demand that legal proceedings be instituted, because the Dutch forces as part of the UN "made it possible for three whole years that commander of Muslim forces in Srebrenica Naser Oric and his soldiers be armed and that he left the protected zone and slaughtered the Serb population".
